About Bowood Farm
Ann and Mark took over Bowood Farm on the 1st March 2018 and have been thoroughly enjoying updating the three holiday cottages. Their first season of holiday lettings started in June 2018.
Bowood Farm is situated in the friendly village of Abbotsham, near Bideford, just 8 minutes away from Westward Ho! Northam Burrows and the Pebble Ridge beach, a stretch of 2 ½ miles of lovely sand, with safe bathing.
The cottages are 2 miles away from the glorious South West Coast Path, joining the path at Greencliffe in Abbotsham.
The village has a great pub ½ a mile walk away that serves excellent food.
The farm is surrounded by beautiful scenery, charming villages, places of interest to visit and many fun activities for all ages.
There are 3 family friendly cottages, which can be booked singly or all together for an amazing celebration to remember, all three would sleep a total of 19 guests, (and more if negotiated with Ann and Mark.)
We are less than a mile from the A39, but tucked away down a small access lane, making it a wonderfully quiet, relaxing and a very safe holiday destination for families with small children. It has ample easy parking on the courtyard just outside the cottages.
Each of the cottages has WiFi enabled throughout. They have their own front door, and you will be supplied with 2 keys, giving you private access to ‘your cottage’ for the duration of your holiday. They also have patio doors leading from the sitting room to an enclosed rear garden for sitting out and enjoying the evening sun and the sunsets. They are fully equipped with patio furniture and a BBQ. The gardens have the most wonderful views over the fields (often occupied by the sheep) and all the way to Exmoor and beyond on a clear day. For the colder months the cottages are easily kept warm with night storage heaters and electric wall heaters.
Each cottage is supplied with an iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner and a hair dryer. Family friendly extras such as travel cots, high chairs and stair gates are also available at the cottage for your use.
We have available for the use of our guests, sunbreaks, surfboards and the essential holiday items, buckets and spades. There is an outside tap available to wash out your wetsuits and each garden has their own rotary airer with clothes pegs supplied.
There is a full size barn available for guests to use at the farm, which includes table tennis, badminton, table football, pool table, air hockey and many other toys for younger children, with plenty of sofas for the adults to sit on whilst the children play. The activities barn is open from 10am to 6pm.
Less than a mile away is Atlantic Village, with a small outlet shopping centre. It also has an Asda, Lidl, Aldi, a MacDonalds, Costa coffee and a Brewers Fayre. Also on this site is Atlantis Adventure Park, a great place to take the children
